It’s a damned if you do damned if you don’t situation with Republicans.

If it were public they’d all grandstand and make a big show over Clinton, yelling over his answers and berating him for tv clips. There’s no winning with the GOP.

Not that I want Clinton to get away with anything. Throw the book at all of them.

He seems rather confident he wasn’t on the record or recorded doing anything worse than the optics of simply being overly associated with Epstein.

I wonder if Ol’ Bill was Wily/smart enough to avoid actually taking a bite out of the proffered forbidden Apple, unlike Trump

He got away with it last time he committed contempt of Congress, and liberals still defend him to this day with “just a blowjob” rhetoric.

I don’t know anyone who has the just a blowjob thing. Usually people like myself view that the pretense investigation into whitewater completely exonerated him while they did fishing trips into his personal life which got him to lie. He was impeached, fined, and had his law license suspended. Much higher repercussions than most people get and it would not even have happened if not for the political fishing trip by members of congress.

You.kust not talk to a lot of liberals then, because it comes up all the time.

Imagine the position we’d be in now if we had set a precedent for holding presidents accountable for breaking the law back in the 90s. Totally different world.

Except it would just be more reinforcement of accountability for bs technicalities for dems and ignoring gross violations of republicans we have now. Like with al franken and actually clinton who as I said faced repercussions. Meanwhile we get the both sides the same. Going into areas completely outside an investigation and getting a lie is totally the same as trying to strong arm a foreign leader by withholding congressionally mandated funds in exchange for him strong armin his countries media into doin a hitpiece on your political opponent. Thats all Im hearin hear. The its the same when things clearly are not.

I don’t look at it as Democrats vs Republicans. I look at it as the establishment vs the people. They don’t have to be exactly the same to be two sides of the same coin. Neither one has our best interests in mind and the more of them we throw in jail for their myriad crimes the better off we’ll be.

Dems vs republicans is the current situation as far as who is governing us and one is clearly worse. Like everything in life there making the best decision for today and work to change to a better tomorrow. One of the biggest issues I see today is the blatant hypocrisy of asymmetric accountability.

It’s not assymettic accountability, it’s full blown collaboration. Democrats are controlled opposition, they exist to give people the illusion of choice and calm then down in between sessions ratcheting society to the right.

To whatever level they were the same has been diverging since nixon and increasingly so. This all the same nonsense has lead us to this worse case scenario. I work to get rid of representatives that disapoint and support ones that do a pretty good job. I choose better over worse. If our electorate does this across the nation we can make progress. If we don’t have enough folks to throw out clearly worse things then we certainly don’t have enough for any larger movemnet.
