Yes we can. Just don’t use it. I don’t see it anywhere in my life except the occasional article here that gets past my filters.

The bubble is going to pop soon enough and like with NFTs the tech bros will eventually make their way back into their sweaty caves.

Pandora’s box is opened, wrt AI. I don’t know what to do about it and it doesn’t improve our lives - but we also can’t un-fuck what it’s brought. It’s made disinformation much cheaper and faster to spread, for both state actors and non-state actors. And the fact that you can run a LLM on an ordinary (if high-end) consumer computer means it’s not going away completely. We’re stuck with this.

That’s like saying you are stuck wearing one pair of underwear. 😂

You have the choice not to wear it. You can choose to change your clothes.

You can choose not to run software that was trained on stolen data and hallucinates misinformation. Easy.

Literally the only place I see any Ai slop is here. The only place I hear it’s inevitable is here. And that’s only what gets past all my filters.

The bubble is going to pop and the same people pushing this agenda like NFTs are going to go crawling back into their corporate sweaty shitholes where they can come up with the next big vice capitalist scam.

Any Ai simps like tech bros pushing NFTs and crypto gets blocked.

Yeah, that doesn’t stop other people from using it, spreading it, and mistaking it. Politicians are openly sharing AI videos and claiming them as true. AI content is often spread untagged precisely because it is intended to pass as ‘genuine’ engagement. Fuck, I myself mistook an AI pic for an aesthetic photo just the other day because I wasn’t looking closely.

Misinformation doesn’t go away just because you, personally, refuse to generate it and try to keep an eye out for it.

Yes and like all the other slop out there before it, it’s always going to be a personal decision to filter what you consume.

The abundance of Ai slop is only going to degrade the lowest of efforts. Real humans art is always going to stand out from the slop.

Like religion, it’s only as real as the individual consuming the propaganda.

Just another garbage human trait to add to the don’t engage with list. Like being religious or a republican.

Oh and also maybe elect smarter leaders without corporate totalitarian agendas. Just saying…
