They’re not talking about a challenger. He might well have a successor who’s being trained by him in private.
You hear about kushner and Barron a lot in US being the next trump. It may be a similar situation there too.
But all of his cronies accepting that successor would be a different thing altogether. They might just further carve up Russia for themselves.
