Considering how few laws are enforced these days, having a ring video of a crime doesn’t really mean anything.

I’m more concerned about political uses of Ring footage than I am package theft.

When he said it could ‘zero out crime’ he meant ring could ‘make a lot of profit’ if they get lots of government contracts

Man, I bet that, when this guy watched The Ring, the first thought that came into his mind was that the characters were being idiots by not making as many copies of the tape as possible and then selling them!

No joke, in college a month before the ring came out, we got a tape mailed to us with nothing indicating what it was, boom it got us.

Why couldn’t they do it in the past 12 months, and why should people believe anything they promise?

And the beauty of it is, that all that AI makes it possible to select specific instances and people we’re gonna call ‘criminal’, and others that we’re just gonna automatically ignore.

Since this is apparently being forced upon us whether we like it or not, I feel like any crime investigation utilizing any AI whatsoever needs to provide a full and detailed timestamped log of every single query used with said AI to the courts for review, and said log should be publicly available in a conspicuous location (i.e. not buried in page 487 of some random unrelated bit of said hypothetical investigation, nor requiring an account or any identifiable information to access).

It’s a pipe dream, I know, but a man can hope.

Financial crime does more damage to the country and might even be a driver for physical crime? Nah, let’s surveil those people hit hardest by the financial crimes of others.
