I was on Twitch for many years, watching mostly travel or local streamers to places I wanted to see (Japan/South Korea at the time), long before he was so popular. He is just saying the things that most of his audience is thinking, a lot of these people talk all about him like he’s a podcaster or something, but he’s a streamer with an audience, and there is a LOT of audience participation. Most of the streams were just back and forth debates with chat about things. So they embrace him because he is them.
