Motorola has confirmed that it will launch the new Razr flip and book-style foldables in the US just before the end of this month.

Please! And make graphene compatible with older Razrs too.

This won’t happen. GrapheneOS has hardware requirements (i.e. they will only support devices they deem secure enough), they would already support them if they met them.

The idea is that Motorola will be making some new devices that are secure enough.

The whole hardware reqruiment thing or security needing to be up to snuff, it is an arbitrary reason not to support devices

Security is their whole purpose, and it’s explained in the very first point on their FAQ

These devices meet the stringent privacy and security standards and have substantial upstream and downstream hardening specific to the devices.

If they did this, I would be so happy.

I’m not keen to pay whatever exhorbitant amount they want for a new Razr, my 2023 still works great.

They did say their partnership begins in 2027, so…
