Fascism doesn’t have a closely defined economic system, but there are some broad tendencies, and most notably it generally combines private ownership of the means of production with a sort of “revolving door” by which business leaders and political leaders share power for their mutual benefit.

I assume that’s not a coincidence - that the reality is that they’re just posturing, but ensuring that the Republican, which is to say pro-corporate, position prevails, because that’s what they’ve been paid to do.
There’s no clearer indicator of the goals of Trump and his cronies than that they’re trying to make it a crime to oppose fascism.

I think this ruling might just be the acid test.
It’s painfully obvious how the SC should rule, both based on the Constitution and based on precedent. Add in the fact that the cited justices’ questions and comments clearly indicate that they understand the legal realities, if they still go ahead and rule in Trump’s favor, that will pretty effectively mark the end, in failure, of the American Experiment.
