Honestly similar to leftist parts of Reddit BUT with the voice of reason usually coming out on top in the comments. That means in comparison it’s less alarmist, less extreme in general and just more nuanced.
One topic that I think is a blind spot is the anti religion part. Many users don’t distinguish between anti religion and anti spirituality, the latter frankly being none of their business. It’s oddly accepted to be aggressively atheist here. Another blind spot is the prevalent defeatism. It’s not everyone but I don’t think people are aware of what they’re doing to their own mind when they only focus on bad news all day.
To me if it’s done purely for the attention of others rather than intrinsically motivated it’s childish. A general lack of responsibility is also childish. Tamer stuff like trinket collections, lewd jokes, cartoons and whatnot in my opinion is enjoyable independently of age. If anything judging those things as childish could be seen as childish. Who’s more obsessed with seeming all grown up than kids?
