The articles with an ounce of journalistic integrity, of which there are many, state what she was accused of, the circumstances under which she was detained. They do not state whether she is guilty or not because they don’t know and because you don’t know either. Everything else is speculation. Either the police will drop the charges or the courts will be determine. Actually not sure why I’m wasting time explaining things to someone who has no desire whatsoever to have a good faith discussion.

What are you talking about? There are a bunch of news articles about it. Now we just wait and see if the allegations stick or if it was trumped up in the first place. I don’t even know what you are going on about.

All I know is what is read from official channels and from what some random person on the internet is telling what actually happened and how i should interpret it instead.

She was arrested under allegations of criminal activity. Im not here to explain the laws or act like I have enough knowledge about the situation to say if she actually did anything illegal or not.

Well if she didn’t do anything illegal then she should be released after being interviewed about the criminal activity that did happen.

I think that blurring the line between journalist and protestor is dangerous, and in any event you can’t break the law just because you are a journalist.

I’m confused as well. I thought Maduro was very very obviously and unanimously considered to be a bad guy. It’s a little shocking, but surprising that anyone in the western world would be upset about it.

Did he advocate for violence? Do you really think it’s MAGA? Come on… but if it is then i will formally apologize to you. Also I’d be curious of the count for left wing versus right wing violence. I’d also be curious which events you consider applicable to that count.

I expect people to be able to say things without being murdered. Killing is not an appropriate response.

It’s more about the celebratory atmosphere after the fact, and less about the evidence in individual cases that is either not available yet or is conflicting as to what ideology (if any), the violence was motivated by. I’d say the real present danger is that a noted and high profile political figure (but not a politician), was murdered (presumably) for his views. That’s real, and not a what if.

Yeah i wouldn’t call him a moderate, but the political cleansing vibe to it is still pretty disturbing.
