If it makes you feel any better, I don’t think those words used in those context are gender specific, that is to say I would totally say “thanks, man” to a woman without batting an eye, and I assume people who use bro would do the same. I know feelings are extremely personal, and if it makes you feel bad it’s unlikely to change because some random person online said something, but in my head “thanks, man” is just a construct used to imply comradrie, it has nothing to do with the gender of the word, just like how “see you later, alligator” doesn’t exclude human beings.

It’s the other way around:
X, Unless Y, then Z
means that in the case of Y, Z is true. A similar grammatical example would beYou should work, Unless you're sick, then you should rest

OP is specifically asking for a power house PC to run a game on maximum graphics. As much as I love my Deck, that’s not what the Deck is.
Personally I would go with the AMD one, but would increase RAM to at least 32GB and maybe downgrade GPU/CPU to compensate the price if needed.
My reasons are:
- Ryzen CPUs are better for multitasking
- AMD GPUs work better on Linux
That’s his point, if OP will use Linux, then AMD is better.
Honestly, I’ve had HP for most of my life, and they have always worked until I couldn’t find cartridges for them or broke them while moving, or something similar. Latest time I needed one I decided that I print stuff so sporadically that a laser printer would be a better investment (previously, almost every time I tried to print stuff the ink was dried, because I hadn’t used it in months). I’ve had this HP for about a year and haven’t had any issues at all. But like I said I don’t print that much, but whenever I needed it it’s been there. And to me reliability is the best quality on a piece of equipment that doesn’t get much use but when it does sometimes is critical.
Nibodhika@lemmy.worldto Linux@lemmy.ml•Kernel: Introduce Multikernel Architecture Support1·3 days agoNot necessarily, maybe the main kernel has to keep running so you won’t be able to hot swap that (haven’t read the thing yet). In any case we’ve had updates without reboot for a while for a while, but it’s a pain to set up, there’s even a song about it https://youtu.be/SYRlTISvjww
