European SMEs have united to direct a strong open letter to urge ministers of EU member states to oppose Chat Control and to defend privacy and a strong European tech industry.
Germany just had its reunification day, and I’m confused people already forgot how intrusive and horrible Stasi has been. If that didn’t convince people it’s a bad idea having the government inside your pants, I don’t know what could.

It’s worth a read.
That is indeed the thing I and everyone keep asking themselves when seeing Germany pro-Chat Control. This and the pro-Israel stance contribute to a very ambiguous reputation.
I’m really not sure if it’s pro-Israel or just “we shouldn’t say anything because, oh my god, did we fuck up”.
In the eyes of many, including many Germans, that by now sounds like a very bad excuse.
In mine as well, but just wait what horn will be blown once anyone does anything.
And next year they’ll come up with a different chat control thing. And one day it will pass.
Or maybe people like me and unlike you will keep fighting and it will never pass.
