Ev is superior to ice in most ways.

While it doesn’t fit everyone’s life, it will fit most people’s and in a way that is a genuine improvement.

Not having to stop for gas is the biggest benefit I did not expect to have.

The only real downside was the need to charge on road trips, but my car charges in 18 minutes so it really isnt a problem anymore. My stops are usually longer than 18 minutes anyways.

      Yeah, EVs are really cool!

I didn’t want to express an anti-EV sentiment, I just hate this commanding kind of headline. “Watch these…”, “Do that…”, “You must…” - shut the fuck up.

You can very much travel long distance with EV. With current batteries and charger you need a 15-20 min break every two hours which is what people should do anyway.

For the 1% that are actually able to drive non-stop for more than 5 hours, its a downside. Anyone that normally travel with someone with less than perfect bladder control will find that extra stops for charging will not be necessary.

There are many more downsides. Range drops in cold weather, and in very cold weather chargers don’t work. In perfect weather, 1 in 4 public chargers don’t work. Then there is the issue with reliability as EVs are full of pointless gadgetry designed to try and justify the cost. I doubt these vehicles will be on roads after ten years.

In practical terms, again for most people, these are non issues. Why do i care about the range being lower in winter when the battery is charged at home and i dont drive more than 400km in a day?

There are fewer moving parts in an EV than there are in icev

And those gadgets are in almost all modern cars, ev or not.
