‘The worst that I’ve seen it.’ Cedar River floods homes, businesses in southeast King County
Flooding from the Cedar River is forcing people from their homes in parts of southeast King County.
Gina Simmonds fled her Maple Valley home near the river yesterday. Today, her son-in-law waded through the floodwaters engulfing her house to rescue family photographs.
“I put them up high, but I never expected the water in the house to get so high," Simmonds said. “So, then I was afraid the furniture they were on would start floating, and we’d lose them, too.”
Oh shit! Dang. A few of my coworkers live out there.
The water is flowing over the border and flooding homes. Did Trump weaponize disasters? ;-)
He’s just the newest mascot for a team who’ve been actively dismantling democracy since the New Deal worked so well in the 40’s. It’s almost like everyone saw civic responsibility, community and social programs make their lives better, looked to communist revolutions happening in other parts of the world, were inspired to ask for more equitability, and the government went and built an entire program for erasing all those good vibes as well as anyone who held onto them.
He is killing renewable energy projects and subsidizing fossil fuels, so… yes?
