The US wants Europe to create an army and then let them command it as if it was theirs.
The war in Ukraine showed them that war of attrition and massive ammunition stockpiles are still the way to go. Your shiny new tanks and cyber soldiers don’t mean shit if Ivan can wipe the floor with em using a $200 Mavic with a bomb strapped on.
They want Europeans to ramp up ammunition stockpiling so that they can use it when needed.
It’s probably because Europe is known to start major wars and US is very well known to benefit from it by playing both sides. Europe is starting to align right again in recent years and some misunderstanding is likely to arise.
They don’t call the west “civilized” for nothing where they destroy each other while using their colonies as cannon fodder and source of wealth and food then they use the same to rebuild themselves while leaving them to poverty and starvation.
