Except theyre deporting US citizens without a trial. What makes you think a passport is going to stop them when the rest of your identification didnt?

Edit: to be clear, i agree that a passport in a good idea to have for when shit hits the fan soon. Just recognise that for a lot of people most in need, theyre the least able to get it.

The rest of the identification doesn’t actually declare legal citizenship status of the holder.

At that point where someone DOES have verifiable proof of citizenship and still ends up deported, the ICE agents are open to constitutional charges.

It’s the technicalities that get Trump and the administration fucked on their incompetence every time.

It’s going down with the Comey case right now.

Yes, it would be nice if things could move faster but we are in - for lack of a better metaphor - a political “in flight emergency” right now, and all we can do is wait until the plane lands or crashes.

Either way, it’s coming down. Hard.

If the Democrats get legislative majority in 2026, I expect a ton of shit to happen quite fast. I suspect Trump will become totally unhinged to the point where the GOP decides to let the 25th Amendment be invoked so they can be rid of him, and then the Democrats will find “consensus” with a surprising number of GOP politicians to address the constitutional violations that have taken place.

You know Trump will do his best to throw every single one of his cabinet members under the bus, when the lawsuits come for him.
