Airport authorities in Phoenix, Las Vegas, Seattle, Portland, Oregon, Charlotte and Westchester county, New York, have refused to display the footage at security checkpoints, saying the overtly political messaging potentially violates state and federal law, including the Hatch Act, which bars federal employees from partisan political activity.
The real story is that the vast majority of airports aren’t pushing back.

Can you imagine the howls of outrage if the Biden administration had mandated even a relatively benign political message? Even Trump 1.0 wouldn’t have pulled this.
We’re already a fascist country. Only reason it’s not more obvious to most Americans is the pacing. This action would have been outrageous 10 months ago, now it’s hardly news.
