What liberals need to understand is law is class power. The problem isn’t simply that the law spontaneously turns back on oppressed people “the instant it can”, but rather, the function of the State is as a tool by which one class represses another. Every law will be turned against us because our enemies are the ones that have all the money and power. Any “victory” we score through laws or reforms or prohibitions will eventually be recuperated and co-opted as long as our ruling class remains in place.
