I have to work through the government shutdown — even though I'm not getting paid much. I'm struggling financially, so I had to visit food pantries.

    They’re (sarcastically) suggesting that a compromise or concession needs to be made (funding ICE) to end the shutdown so that government employees (inculuding TSA) can start getting paid again.
