Canada is a minor contributor to climate change, I mean how much better it can get?

I wonder how much progress South Asian countries instead are making

If your basis for taking action on any issue is a dick measuring contest with other nation states, then you are using the same logic as the idiots in the US administration, and it’s terribly flawed as a basis for crafting any favorable outcome. So don’t do that.

      I’ll quote myself:

Why should we meet human rights goals that other countries do not? Why drive on this side of the road if another country doesn’t? Why have any arbitrary set of standards AT ALL if we can just toss them out because some other asshole demographic decides they want to shit on the world?

Any net improvement affects the global system. Regardless of the actions of ANY other countries, we owe it to our descendants to act in a way that maximizes their survival and quality of life.

It seems you are more worried about dicks and US politics than about the actual climate change.

Any net improvement doesn’t necessarily affect the global climate in a measurable way. You can boast about improving plastic recycling and CO2 emissions reduction with 100% efficiency, but it is not going to do anything on the global scale.

You are still not going to meet global emissions targets and CO2 levels and temperatures are still going to increase regardless of what you do in Canada and US.

You can further lower the quality of life for a common person, make housing even less accessible, vehicles even less reliable and more complicated and it still will not affect anything. Because Canada emits megatons of CO2 and most countries in Asia are ten fold of that (gigatons per year).

There is always room for progress and we should strive to keep improving it regardless of how minor we might think it is :)
